Virginia provides several public routes for custody and court information, but each route answers a different question. Middle Peninsula Regional Security Center maintains the regional jail record. The Virginia Department of Corrections runs its inmate and supervisee locator. District 5 handles state community supervision, and federal releases appear through federal systems when jurisdiction fits. This site organizes those official paths, explains what a status can and cannot prove, and shows how to request a release or movement record when no public archive exists.
